We are thrilled to announce that Bryan Sotnyk, previously our Reference & Young Adult Services Librarian, has been promoted to the position of Assistant Director.
Bryan began working at the Horsham Township Library in June of 2016 immediately after graduating with his Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Bryan has worn many hats in his 8 years at HTL including Reference Librarian/Library Geek answering patrons questions and assisting with their technology, Teen Librarian running programs and buying books for the YA collection, IT Guy maintaining the library's technology, Interlibrary Loan Librarian keeping up with patron's requests for materials outside MCLINC's collections, Adult Services Librarian offering programs for seniors and adults in our community, and as partial social media manager/marketing helper writing many of our Facebook posts, drafting our newsletter, designing posters for many of our programs, leading the children during Music & Fun, and helping out wherever else he can.
As Assistant Director, Bryan will still be handling adult programming, Interlibrary Loans, IT services for our library technology, and social media/marketing duties and will look to extend the library's reach by connecting, partnering, and working with local groups and organizations to bring the library to more people in our community.
Bryan's first project in his new position can be seen in the background of the picture above: an art installation by the students from Simmons Elementary. This installation features art from students in all grades at Simmons and was installed by art teacher Ms. Colussi. We're thrilled to collaborate with Simmons and look forward to future projects with them and other organizations in our community.
